Robert O. Pettus
Lexington-Robert O. Pettus, 76, passed away December 4, 2017. Born in Russellville, AL, he was the son of Evelyn S. Wood and the late "Doc" Pettus.
Dr. Pettus was a devoted member of Lexington UMC, where he was active in many ministries. He taught for 35 years in the College of Engineering and Computing at the University of South Carolina. His passions were education and service, both at USC ad LUMC. He was intensely and tirelessly dedicated to his students, to his church community, and to working for the poor and disenfranchised. Although his absence leaves a terrible void, we know that he is safe and joyful now.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Wanda Pettus; his mother; brother, Michael L. Pettus and sister-in-law, Jane D. Pettus of Delta, AL; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Lexington UMC.
