Services for Leona Avery, 80, will be 4pm Monday May 4, 2009 at Pisgah Lutheran Church with Rev. Dan Bacon officiating. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8pm Sunday May 3, 2009 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to Pisgah Lutheran Church 1350 Pisgah Church Rd. Lexington, SC 29072.
Mrs. Avery passed away Saturday May 2, 2009. Born in Lexington County she was the daughter of the late Burley Jonas and Lottie Amick.
She is survived a son, James W. "Buck" Avery, Sr., brother, Elmer Amick, sister, Marjorie Rish all of Lexington, 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
She is pre-deceased by her husband James G. Avery; sisters, Lucille Meetze and Sue Ella Riley.
