Gilbert-Services for Judy Shealy Hendrix, 61, will be conducted 3 p.m., Monday at Cedar Grove Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gary Brandenburg and the Rev. Kathleen Panning officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Cedar Grove Lutheran Church Building Fund, 1220 Cedar Grove Rd., Leesville SC 29070.
Mrs. Hendrix died Saturday, January 31, 2009. Born in Gilbert a daughter of the late Herman "Toby" L. and Rosa Bell Craps Shealy. She was the owner of Murray Beauty Shop, a member of Cedar Grove Lutheran Church, the Church Food Committee, and the Foster Care Review Board for ten years. An active community supporter, she was a Girl Scout Leader, a substitute Teacher and Bus Driver, a supporter of the Gilbert High School Booster Club and the Special Olympics.
Surviving are her husband, Larry "Bill" Hendrix; a son, Toby M. Hendrix of the home; daughter, Lisa Hendrix Strickland of Raleigh, NC; sister, Carolyn S. Tucker of Aiken. She was predeceased by a sister, Wandell S. Sharpe.
The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their care and friends, family, and neighbors for their food, love, care and support during Judy's illness.
