Leesville---Graveside services for Brian Vincent Smith, Sr., 59, will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday July 28, 2013 at St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery with the Rev. Pam Turfa officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel. Memorials may be made to Notre Dame Club of the Midlands P. O. Box 746 Columbia, SC 29202.
Mr. Smith passed away Tuesday July 23, 2013. Born in Bridgeport, CT, he was a son of the late Norbert Gerald Smith and Hilda Bunch Boozer Smith Rish. He was a civil engineer, was the owner and operator of The Barn Campground and was a member of the Notre Dame Club of the Midlands. Brian referred to himself as a "bucolic raconteur" and was an avid fan of the Grateful Dead.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth J. King, son, Brian Vincent Smith, Jr., daughters, Jennifer Smith McKinney and Megan Fair Smith, brother, Gerald Smith, sister, Claire Smith, 3 grandchildren, Lena Rachel, Patrick Alexander and Chloe Gail McKinney.
