Steven Richard Dock

Obituary

Steven Richard Dock, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 21, 2022. He was born on June 24, 1948, in Salem, Ohio to the late Richard Dock and Louise Dillinger Dock.

He served in the United States Army. During his time in the Army he served five tours as a Tunnel Rat in Vietnam and he was a three time recipient of the Purple Heart. After returning home, he became a Drill Sergeant. He was a true American Hero.

Steven is survived by his children, Crystal (Scott) Hawk, Steve Dock, Will (Rae Dawn) Dock, Shane (Cheryl) Dock and Stacy (Joey) Allen; grandchildren, Kailee (Dominic) Dock-Hatcher, Korrey (Kenzie) Dock, Rachelle Demastus, Terry Dock, Gracie Dock, Seth Hawk, Miley Dock, Sarah Hawk, Colby Dock, Brinley Dock, Bentley Dock, and Justin Schneider. He is also survived by two brothers, Jim Gilbert and Ernie Gilbert.

Special thanks to Patty Allen for taking care of daddy for all these years and to Annette Berley for playing cards with him and always having a cold one ready for him. Also, a special thanks to Tammy and Dianne with Prisma Health Hospice.

Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Hope Christian Fellowship, 1712 Mobile Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29170. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.
