Funeral services for James Clinton "Bud" Keisler, 101, will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2017 at Boiling Springs UMC with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 1-2:30 p.m. before the service in the Family Ministries Building. Pallbearers will be grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Boiling Springs UMC Choir. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, is in charge.
Mr. Keisler was born in Lexington County on May 4, 1916 and was the son of the late Sidney David and Eva Belle Shealy Keisler. He was a 1935 graduate of Gilbert High School and attended Clemson College Farming School. He was a member of the Young Farmer's Association, Lexington County Cattlemen's Association, Boiling Springs Community Club, Boiling Springs UMC and the men's club and choir. He was a life long farmer and partner of the family business, Keisler's Store, founded in 1913.
Surviving are his sons, Joel Keisler (Elaine), Sidney Keisler (Nita); daughters, Joyce Davenport (Charles), Eva Ruth Eargle (Earl), and Laurel Barden (Bob); 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred Steele Keisler, brother, Shuford Keisler and a sister, Winette Gunter.
