Carolyn M Meetze

Carolyn M. Meetze, 80, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017. Born January 24, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Clarendon W. Medlen and Burley Kyzer Medlen.

A member of Bethany Lutheran Church, she was a graduate of Brooklyn Cayce HS. She was an active member of her community having served on the Gaston Crime Watch, Lexington County Sheriff Advisory Council and Election Commission, and as a secretary for the Lexington County Library.

Survivors include her husband, Harry "Butch" Meetze; son Larry Gainey (Dottie); daughter Timna Gainey; grandchildren DJ, Drew, Ginny, Patricia, Ashley, Amber, and Breck; and daughter-in-law Crystal Meetze. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepson David Meetze.

A funeral service for Mrs. Meetze will be held 2 pm, Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Lexington, SC, with burial to follow in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Cemetery, Swansea, SC. Serving as pallbearers will be John Hill, Bobby Meetze, Chad Snowdon, Camden Sheehan, Curt Ward, and Allen Medlen. The family will greet friends from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, September 19. 2017, at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 720 Bethany Church Rd., Lexington, SC, 29073.
