Wise D Summers Obituary

Wise Douglas “Doug” Summers, 64, son of the late Wise Brinkley Summers and the late Louise T. Summers Smith, was born on August 6, 1953, in Leesville, SC, Lexington County.  He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at his home in Leesville, SC.  Wise was educated in the public schools of Lexington County, South Carolina, and served in the United States Army.  After military service, he lived in Ohio and worked in textiles before returning to South Carolina in 2003.

At an early age, he joined the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Leesville, SC. 

Those left to cherish precious memories are:  Three sisters, Mary L. Butler, Batesburg, SC, Brenda K. Summers, Leesville, SC, and Cellastine (Jerry) Gary, Gilbert, SC; three brothers; William T. Summers, John “Steve” Summers, and Michael Summers all of Leesville, SC; and a foster sister; Sara Johnson of Columbia, SC; two aunts, Liza Elizabeth Summers and Susie Summers both of Leesville, SC; three nieces, two nephews, 7 great nieces and 5 great nephews, a host of cousins and other relatives, and many sorrowing friends who will miss him dearly.
