Winifred Berry Poole

Winifred Berry Poole (Winnie), beloved wife, caring mother, Nannie and friend passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the age of 93 surrounded by her family. She was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church, and community. She was the daughter of James Henry and Coye Hawkins Berry. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Gustavus Ober “G.O.” Poole; her cherished daughter-in-law, Cindy Rish Poole; her nine brothers and sisters: Hoyt, Carl, Kelly, Wallace, George Pickens “G.P.”, David, Mae, Georgia, Grace; and a great grandson, Everett Daniel Semenza.
She is survived by her children: Susan Jovanelly (Wayne), Sandra Hartley (Mike), Gerry Poole, Randy Poole (Sandy); grandchildren: Brian Lorick (Missy), Jeremy Poole (Anna Lee), Caitlin Gilliam (Taylor), Krista Hartley (Greg Bickley), Kara Greer (Dustin), Jared Poole (Carly), Kelly Semenza (Dan), Luke Beasley; her great grandchildren: Colby & Callie Lorick, Weston & Brantley Poole, Connor, Graham & Hallie Gilliam, Lakyn Greer, Charlotte Semenza, Leighton Poole and great great grandson, Donny Boone Lorick.
As a devout Christian, she spent her life serving God. She was also the center of her family always ensuring to put everyone else first. She hosted family lunches every Sunday and all holidays were spent in her home. She served her community as a nurse working with DHEC in county clinics.
Her Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Trinity Baptist Church in Cayce, SC at 4:00 pm with visitation beginning at 2:30 pm. Burial will follow the service at Southland Memorial Gardens. Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.
