It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Joseph Stanley, Jr. (Joey) on March 21, 2026. William was born in Columbia, S.C. He is the son of the late William Joseph Stanley, Sr. (biological father) and Richard Reese (step-father). William proudly served his country in the Army from 1989 to 1997. He enjoyed going to yard sales, flea markets, auctions, camping in the mountains and watching Clemson Football. He loved taking his grandkids to the zoo and working on cars. William is survived by his mother, Betty R. Reese; his daughter, Tabatha A. Hankins; his grandchildren, Aiden L. Brazell, Allison A. Brazell; his sisters, Karen Marie Stanley, Mary Anne Stanley, Rebecca Lynn Rivera; and his brothers, Richard Norton Stanley (Ricky) and Richard Kenneth Reese (Kenny). He is also survived by his step-children, Brittany Nicole Kirkland and her children, Michael Allen Hankins and Mitchell Arbra Hankins and his children. William loved nothing more than spending time with his family and making great memories. His celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 41470 Percival Road, Columbia, S.C. 29229.
