Memorial services for Mr. William Joel Black, 74, will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Good Hope Lutheran Church with the Rev. Reginald Cruse and Rev. Jud Hook officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Hope Lutheran Church, 4663 Spann Road, Ward SC 29166. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Black passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025. He was born in Columbia to the late William Monroe and Betty Hook Black. Joel was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church and was a retired electrician and instrument technician with Turner Construction. He enjoyed playing golf at the Ponderosa Country Club, fishing, and watching his Clemson Tigers.
Surviving are his wife, Kris Black; step-daughters, Sarah Feagin and Tasha West; brother, David Black; sisters, Dale Bartley (Neil) and Betty Ann Schumpert; and grandchildren, Haileigh Yon (Paxton) and Ashlyn Feagin.
