William Jerry Ferguson
October 12, 1945 – March 18, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William “Jerry” Ferguson, he was called home into the loving arms of our Father on March 18, 2025 at the age of 79. He was a treasured father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jerry was born on October 12, 1945 in Blackville, SC to W.H. and Emma Lee Ferguson. He grew up in Barnwell, SC and graduated from Barnwell High School in 1963. He retired from Carolina Eastman after 20 years in 1987. Throughout his life he loved to fish, work in his yard and never missed a Nascar race. After his retirement and later in life he poured his love into caring for his wife and spending time with his great grandbabies.
He was known for his love for the Lord and old muscle cars. His kindness, faith, and love touched many lives, leaving behind cherished memories for those who knew him.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Angela Summer (Chris); his grandchildren, Brett Summer (Amber) and Ashton Donnelly (Blake); his great grandchildren, Azalee Summer, Memphis Donnelly and Willow Donnelly; his beloved dog, Bridgette and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William Henry Ferguson; his mother, Emma Lee Ferguson; his wife, Catherine Jeanette Ferguson; his brothers, Lloyd Edward Carroll and James Henry Carroll; and his sister, Docia Fountain.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on April 4, 2025 at South Lexington Baptist Church. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 am-10:45 am. Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family. “He who believes in me hath everlasting life.” John 6:47
