William "Harold" Hodges

On March 31, 2021 William “Harold” Hodges, Senior went to his heavenly home at the age of 77. He displayed much strength and a love for the Lord in his everyday life. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, son and friend to many. His wit, and master level quick jokes will not be forgotten. Harold worked at The State Newspaper for 38 years. He was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a generous heart and one of service. Harold was predeceased by parents Samuel and Francis Hodges, and wife Laura Lee Hodges.

He is survived by children Julie Dawson, Bill (Julie) Hodges, Amanda (Jeff) Wickman.

Harold is also survived by seven grandchildren: Jacob (Melissa) Dawson, Zeb (Beth) Dawson, Will (Carly) Hodges, Suzannah Dawson, Owen, Ethan, and Julia Wickman plus four great-grandchildren: Lily Dawson, Lily Green, Jace and Wade Dawson.

A memorial service will be held on April 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Dunn’s Chapel Church, 281 Chapel Road, West Columbia, SC. The family will receive family and friends following the graveside service at approximately 3:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to Dunn's Chapel. The service will be live streamed on Dunn's Chapel Facebook page:  http://https://m.facebook.com/Dunnschapelchurch  Participants can like their Facebook page to watch.
