William Folk Zeigler Obituary

William Folk Zeigler
March 13, 1932 – June 5, 2025

With deep love and respect, we celebrate the life of William Folk Zeigler, who passed away at the age of 93. A man of integrity, service, and devotion, William lived his life with purpose, always putting family, faith, and community at the center of everything he did.

William proudly served his country for three years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War as an aviation mechanic. After his military service, he dedicated over 30 years as a funeral director and mortician, offering compassion and care to families during their most difficult times. His commitment to serving others extended even further when he became a volunteer firefighter, dedicating many years to protecting and supporting his community simply out of love for helping those in need. His dedication eventually led him to serve for 12 years as the Fire Chief of Chapin, where his leadership and passion for service made a lasting impact. Later, he continued to serve the people of Lexington County as Deputy Coroner.

A man of strong faith, William was also a charter member of Chapin Baptist Church, where his presence and leadership made a lasting impact.

Above all, William cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to Pamela Warner Zeigler, his loving wife of 61 years. He was a proud father to Holley Zeigler Barfield (Butch), William Sean Zeigler (Krissy), and Walter Seth Zeigler (Julie), and a beloved grandfather to Billy Barfield, Katie Barfield, Madison Zeigler, Tyler Zeigler, Zoe Zeigler, and Mia Zeigler. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he loved, the community he served, and the faith he carried throughout his life.

A memorial service to honor William’s life will be held at Chapin Baptist Church on June 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Sanctuary, with visitation to follow. Barr-Price Funeral Home at Lexington Chapel is handling the arrangements. For those who wish to make donations in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Chapin Baptist Church, located at 950 Old Lexington Hwy.

Though he may no longer walk among us, the love, wisdom, and kindness he shared will forever be woven into the lives he touched. As we celebrate his life, we know that William and Pamela are now tearing up the golden streets of heaven on their Gold Wing motorcycle—together once again, riding free.
