With love and respect, we remember the incredible life of William “Bill” Pickney Bullock, who passed away on August 15, 2025, at the age of 95. Surrounded by his devoted family and friends, Bill peacefully entered the arms of his Savior, leaving behind a legacy that spans five generations.
Known affectionately by his military nickname, “Bambino El Torro,” Bill served his country with honor for eight years in the Army. He had a larger-than-life personality with a mischievous streak, and he never shied away from an adventure. He was a dashing dresser, master griller, and captivating storyteller. Bill was a certified pilot and the owner of multiple businesses in real estate, insurance, construction, trucking, and amateur farming. He found joy in the simple things, whether it was a spirited round of golf, tending to his garden, or tackling home improvement projects.
Bill was a faithful member of Brooklyn United Methodist Church for many years. He drove the church bus, served as a tour guide, crafted witty sayings for the church sign, and was an active member of the Couples for Christ Sunday School Class. His life was a testament to his passion for family, good conversation, and his wholehearted service to his church.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Nell Floyd Bullock; his son-in-law, Grigg Jenkins; seven sisters; three brothers; and his furry best friend, Jake. Some say that Jake is actually his favorite family member.
His enduring legacy continues through his children, June Bullock (Frank), Ben Bullock (Ann), and Linda Jenkins. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Karissa Cockrell (David), Michelle Cossey (David), Scott Jenkins, Brian Jenkins (Alyson), Patricia Steed (Sean), and Bridget Willing (Nicholas).
Bill's spirit lives on in his great-grandchildren: Ben David Bullock, Penny Neel, Justin Cockrell (Hannah), Sarah Cockrell (Lindsay), Jessica Rose (Matthew), Hannah Garvin, Ana Steed, Gavin Jenkins, Bailey, and Cassidy Iverson. His memory is also carried by his great-great-grandchildren, Brooks Cockrell, Abigail Jackson, Nathaniel Jackson, and William Jackson.
Finally, he leaves behind his beloved nephew and niece, Keith and Naoma Floyd. Although we will miss him, we take comfort in knowing that Bill is whole again and has embarked on his greatest adventure with his Heavenly Father.
