William “Bill” John Bohan

West Columbia - William “Bill” John Bohan, 77, passed away at Life Care Center of Columbia on January 9, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Pomaria Cemetery located at Folk and Peak Roads in Pomaria, SC.  

Bill was born in Menominee, MI on October 14, 1943 to the late Mary Elizabeth P. and George E. Bohan. He proudly served in the Navy from July 1961 to October of 1964 and went on to work for UPS for 33 years before retiring in 2000. He was the 6th person of the first 12 hired in 1967, driving package carts and feeders, and was in the Circle of Honor at UPS. Bill was also a member of the American Legion, serving Meal on Wheels, and various church organizations, including Lutheran Men, serving on church council, church bus driver for 20 years, and as greeter and usher. He loved his home, family, close friends and his church.

Bill is survived by brothers, Richard Bohan (Bonnie) of Madison, WI, Jerry Bohan (late, Carol) of Marinette, WI, David Bohan (Mary Jane) of Oneida, WI; sisters, Nancy Behrendt (Jeff) of Marinette, WI, and Patricia Valley (Jake) of Peshtigo, WI; nieces, nephews; good friends, Donald and Mattie Stockman, and his church family.

He was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Judy Mae Aull Bohan and a son, William John Bohan, Jr.
