William Jacobs "Jake" Rush

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William Jacobs "Jake" Rush on September 26, 2025. Born on February 23, 1942, in Greenwood, SC. Jake was a beloved figure whose charm, intelligence, and kindness were felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Jake spent the majority of his career as a systems analyst for SC Department of Social Services, a position he held with dedication.  In his retirement, Jake loved to travel and spend time with his family. 

He is survived by his daughter,  Kacie Rush; his son, Jeffrey Rush; grandchildren, Damien, Payton, Haley and Silas Rush and his great friend, Gary Clark, Sr.  Jake is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
 

William was preceded in death by his father, Hughey Jr., and mother,  Dorothy Jacobs Rush, and by his wife, Kay Wright Rush. Also preceding him in death are his siblings, Hughey Alexander III and Dorothy "Dolly" Rush Bailey.

A visitation in honor of William Rush will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Barr-Price Funeral Homes and Crematorium, located at 609 Northwood Road, Lexington, South Carolina, 29072. These services are under the direction of Barr-Price Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lexington Chapel.
