William Robert Dunigan, 83, was called home on June 7, 2023, with his loving wife beside him as he passed. He was born on September 30, 1939, in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Robert Morris and Alta Minnie Dunigan.
William studied in Germany and graduated from college there. His love for the German language and culture was never lost. Following graduation, he served in the Air Force from 1957-1962, and was stationed at Wiesbaden AFB. He later married his beloved wife, Carol Ann, with whom he shared 29 beautiful years. William was a loyal member of Northside Baptist Church in Lexington, SC, and his wife continues to be a faithful member.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife, Carol Ann, are his son, Patrick Dunigan, and his wife, Anya; his stepson, Edward Black; his stepdaughter, Linda Clegg, and her husband, John Clegg; his stepdaughter, Kathryn Mitchell; 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
A memorial service for his family will be held on June 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org).
