IN LOVING MEMORY
Bro. Bucky
Babe, Daddy, Pop Pop, Mr. Bucky…many names, one special, wonderful, precious man. He stepped foot into Beulah Land this past Thursday at 10:17am while listening to recordings of himself singing with the GSB Trio. We know he is running up and down those streets of gold. He finally got to see what he has been joyfully singing about for over 40 years. And we know he is dancing a jig and smiling from ear to ear. While we will never be the same and will miss him every day, we are so thankful that his body is whole and home and happy. Thank you to all who reached out to us during his illness, he loved each and every one of you, and so do we.
Mr. Bucky is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ginger; brother, Barry Moorer; sister, Tara Lawson; daughters, Heather (Keith) and Kimberly; grandchildren, Brayden, Brooklyn, Britley, and Brax; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Buck and Evelyn Moorer Sr.
He was a member of Gantt Street Baptist since August 1979 and served as deacon, choir member, part of the GSB Trio, and Sunday school teacher. He was also a US Navy Veteran and Warehouse supervisor.
A visitation for Bro. Bucky will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Gantt Street Baptist Church in Cayce, S.C., with a service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Celestial Memorial Gardens in West Columbia, S.C. following the service.
