Thomas C. Monts, Jr.
“Tom, Bub, Buck John, Tommy”
June 20, 1961- April 9, 2025
Born in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Tom was the son of Margaret L. Hollis and the late Thomas C. Monts, Sr. He graduated from Lexington High School (Lexington, SC) in 1979 and was a superintendent/foreman at Gregory Electric Company, Inc.
An avid outdoorsman, Tom loved nothing more than hunting and fishing. He also had a knack for working with his hands—there wasn’t much he couldn’t tackle once he set his mind to it. Tom had a special place in his heart for family and friends, embracing his extended family of kids who affectionately called him “Uncle Bub.” He took great joy in mentoring young people about the great outdoors.
He was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and “uncle.” His kindness and dry wit will be remembered by many and missed by all. True to his caring nature, he always aimed to make the most compassionate choices. The last choice that he made- he thought- was no different.
Tom is survived by his mother, Margaret L. Hollis of Lexington, SC, and his sister, Lynne M. Hendrix of Chapin, SC, along with many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished “nieces and nephews.”
Services will be held at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington, SC. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 15th at 12 Noon. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1 o’clock PM.
