Tammy Earwood Sharpe

Tammy Earwood Sharpe,53, passed from this life to eternity on April 20, 2024. Tammy was born on September 12, 1970 to George and Mildred Earwood of West Columbia. A bright, adventurous child, she always knew just the thing to add a little fun to any situation. 

In 1992, she married Clyde Sharpe and they had three children. Tammy went to Columbia College where she acquired her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Education. A fiercely passionate teacher of nearly 20 years, Tammy could always be found furthering her education, leaning over the desk of a student, or laughing with her very best friends, Amy, Melissa, and Laura. 

During her summers, she could be found camping with her granddaughters who affectionately called her “Gammy Tammy” or out on the lake surrounded by her friends. It seemed wherever Tammy was, a party was sure to follow. She was a bright light in this world and will surely be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her mother, Mildred Earwood; her loving husband, Clyde; her three children, Kelsey (William) Arender, Logan Sharpe, Abby Sharpe (Jacob Taylor); her two adored granddaughters, Cecelia and Iris Arender; and her brother, George Wesley Earwood, Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 27, 2024 at New Hope Baptist Church, 3289-3253 Princeton Road, West Columbia, SC 29170. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.
