Tamara H Whitmire

Tamara Henson Whitmire, better known as Tami, passed away in her home on Friday, July 30th, 2021. Tami is survived by her husband; Richard Whitmire, her sons; Luke and Ben Whitmire, her grandchildren; Ezra and Murphy Whitmire and her siblings; Mike Henson, Dan Henson and Susan Morrison. She is predeceased by her parents; JT and Jean Henson. 

Tami was born on March 18th, 1960 at Spartanburg General Hospital in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Tami accepted Christ at a young age and spent the majority of her adult years as a prayer warrior and fervent student of God's Word. She was a member of Lexington Baptist Church and cherished her Sunday school friends dearly. 

Tami had a few different jobs over the years, most recently she spent 11 years with the South Carolina Department of Transportation in the call center. Her favorite job was her time as a stay at home mom to her two sons, Luke and Ben. Her hobbies included spoiling her grandchildren, bible study groups with friends and late night phone conversations with her sister, Susan.

As Tami went to her forever home to be with Jesus, she wanted to remind her friends and family to "Give hope, encourage one another not to give up, be full of faith, be faithful and love each other. Honor Him and Praise Him for the Lord is near." 

A memorial service is scheduled for 6:30 PM on Friday, August 6th, 2021 at Lexington Baptist Church in the chapel located on Main Street in Lexington, South Carolina.
