Steven Spires, Sr. Obituary

Steven Earle Spires Sr., of Gilbert SC, age 55 passed on Thursday, February 13, 2020.  He was born in Heidelberg, Germany August 14, 1964 to the late Robert Lee Spires Sr. and Geraldine E. Stevenson.

He enjoyed life to the fullest, was an avid rider, and enjoyed riding his Harley across the country, but especially in the mountains of Maggie Valley. Steve loved NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt # 3.  He found the love of his life 12 years ago her name was “Evo” and they have been inseparable ever since. His passion of cooking and being on the water has inspired many long and loving relationships. Steve graduated from Airport High School, class of 1982, was a huge Clemson fan, and a member of the Masonic Lodge #152.  He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and friend. 

Surviving include his daughter, Brandi Ray (Scott); granddaughters, Alexus and Caroline; son, Steven Spires Jr. (Staci); grandsons, Wyatt, Connor, and Spencer; sisters, Rhonda Cherry (Randon) and Terri S. McCurdy (Charlie); brother, Robert L. Spires Jr. (Joni); Debbie Chastain; Jennifer (Tim); grandchildren, Harley and Gregory; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Steven E. Spires Sr. to Shiners Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 1525, Ranson, WV 25438. Donor Support & Information donorrelations@shrinenet.org. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
