Memorial services for Sherill W. Asbill, 85, will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2026 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Derrick officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 1273 Calks Ferry Rd., Lexington SC 29072. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Asbill passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Born in Batesburg, he was a son of the late Roy and Myrtis E. Epting Asbill. Sherill was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, a Life Member of Lexington Masonic Lodge 152, a U.S. Navy Veteran, and retired from Hobgood Electric.
Surviving are a son, Steve W. Asbill; daughter, Lisa A. McMullen; brothers, Wayne Asbill and Brent Asbill; sisters, Judy Swygert and Sue Caughman (Milton); 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie “Margie” Asbill, sisters-in-law, Dondra Asbill and Rachel Asbill, brother-in-law, Deward “Stump” Swygert. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice, especially Rolanda Hill and Brandi Hallman, for their loving care.
