Sharon V. McGinnis passed away on May 22, 2026. Born in Mobile, Alabama, Sharon was a loving and supportive mother, a resilient and courageous woman who dedicated herself to caring and supporting others.
Her strong work ethic and caring nature were evident throughout her many years in Fleet Services with Southeastern Freight Lines, where she worked faithfully until her passing. Her kindness and unwavering positive attitude made her a cherished member of her professional community. Even throughout her long battle with cancer, Sharon faced each challenge with grace, strength, and perseverance while remaining deeply devoted to her family, friends, and especially her grandkids.
Sharon was passionate about life and lived it to the fullest. She found joy in shopping, watching crime documentaries, and traveling, especially to the beach or mountains. Above all, Sharon was a devoted grandmother; spending time with her grandchildren was what mattered most to her.
She is survived by her sons, Ken Vowles (Colleen Quarles, mother of three of her grandchildren); Allen McGinnis (Elise); her seven grandchildren, Kenneth, Danny, Zach, Rielyn, Shawn, Ayden, and Quintin; her brothers, Bob Pugh (Sarah) and Allen Pugh (Surekha); and niece, Ipsita Pradhan.
She is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Hilda Pugh.
Sharon's legacy of love, support, and courage will continue to inspire and guide all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service for Sharon will be held 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium Lexington Chapel 609 Northwood Road Lexington, SC 29072. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
