S. W. Shealy, III passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025. Born on January 31, 1938, he was a devoted husband to Alice Ruth (Tootsie) Hartley Shealy his wife of sixty-seven years. He was a father to William Anthony (Tony) Shealy (Ranell).
S.W. spent much of his life in the outdoors on the water, hunting, and gardening. He found peace and purpose in the outdoors whether it was the stillness of quiet morning fishing, the thrill of finding that big buck in the woods, or growing enough vegetables to share with friends and family.
One of his greatest passions was deer hunting and fishing. He was an avid deer hunter and an active member of several hunting clubs until recent years. He cherished the camaraderie of the club, the friendly competitions, and the opportunity to teach his grandson everything he knew about hunting and fishing. Hunting, fishing, and farming were not just hobbies to him they were a way of life.
He was preceded in death by brothers Henderson A. Shealy and Ralph Kneece.
He is survived by his wife, Alice “Tootsie” Shealy, his son Tony Shealy (Ranell), his grandchildren Brooks Shealy (Amanda), Mandi Sturkie (Bobby), and Meagan Maness (Shannon), and great-grandchildren Lucas Sturkie, Sutton Maness, Sarah Sturkie, Stella Shealy, Allie Cate Sturkie, and Nadine Shealy, and sister in laws Shelly Clamp Shealy and Lois Grice Kneece.
