Rubye Risinger Dellinger

Rubye Risinger Dellinger, 100, passed away on October 21, 2025. Born in Leesville, SC, she was the second daughter of the late Thomas Ervin and Eva Rikard Risinger and the wife of the late Carl A. Dellinger.

She was a longtime active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church Spartanburg, of Circle Two, and of several bridge clubs. She was also a retired medical secretary and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Leesville-Batesburg Post. She also enjoyed traveling and could always be found on the bus with the On-the-Go Group at her church.

Rubye was best known for her put-together and, often, sparkling fashion sense, her love for desserts and other sweets, and her enjoyment of royal biographies.

Rubye is survived by her daughter, Jeanie Dellinger Rhyne (Jody) of Columbia, SC; two granddaughters Allie Rhyne Riddle (Topher) of West Columbia, SC, and Savannah Lee Little (Preston) of Greer, SC; her three sweet, precious great-grandchildren, Dellinger, Charlotte, and Clementine; her sister, Mary Ergle of Batesburg, SC; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Sara R. Shealy of Leesville, SC and Evetta R. Smith of Gilbert, SC.

Services for Mrs. Dellinger will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29th at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 415 S. Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302 with the Reverends Heather and Wade Apel officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church general fund or to the Courtyard Committee at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
