Roy "Buddy" Douglas Dantzler

Roy Douglas “Buddy” Dantzler, 69, of Gaston passed away Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020.  Born in Columbia, he was the beloved son of Robert and the late Elsie Fouche. 

Roy is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Renee; his four children, Christy, Charlie (Angie), Cindy (Jack), Carrie (Preston); six grandchildren, Michael, Bryan, Dylan, Tyler, Jayden, and Kane; great-granddaughter, Graceleigh; and his 3 brothers, Bobby (the late Elizabeth), Randy (Linda), and John (Cherry).  He was predeceased by his brother, Jack.

Roy retired from Shealy and Sons Electric after 13 years of service, and was still working the South Carolina State Fair, as he had been doing for the last 34 years.  He was a loving family man who would do anything for the ones he cared for.  No matter what, Roy would always be there.  Roy was a man of many words; most of which were four letter phrases.  He may have cussed like a sailor, but he loved with all of his heart.  He hardly ever met a stranger, and he was well known as the type of man that would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. 

A visitation will be held Monday, September 7th, 2020 from 2-3pm in the Chapel of Celestial Memorial Gardens.  A graveside service and burial will follow at 3pm.  Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Stewart, Mike Crapps, Carl Bessinger, Adam Hodges, Mark Smith, and Trevor Smith.
