Rosemary S. Burgess

Rosemary Burgess, a kind and loving figure, passed away on November 16, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on June 22, 1945, in Savannah, GA.  She built a successful real estate investment and retired to move to Lexington to be closer to her daughter and grandson.   She enjoyed nature, fishing, camping, gardening and painting. 

She was a woman of great tenacity and strength, attributing her success to the values instilled in her by her late parents, Emory Leon Sheffield, Sr. and Beatrice Willis Sheffield. 

Surviving include her daughter, Marci Brasington; grandson, James Matthew Durrance; sisters, Carolyn Blakewood (Bob) and Joanie Pealstrom (Jerry); brother, Arthur E. Sheffield, Sr., sister-in-law, Cathy Sheffield; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her daughters, Shannon Louise Burgess and Leslie Paige Burgess; brothers, Emory Leon Sheffield, Jr. and James W. Sheffield, Sr. 

Visitation for Rosemary will be held from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at Barr-Price Funeral Homes & Crematorium Lexington Chapel, 609 Northwood Road, Lexington, South Carolina, 29072. A graveside service will be held 2:00pm at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, South Carolina, 29072.
