RoseMarie Brodeur, 100, of Lexington, SC, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. She was born in 1920 to the late Elva Boyd and Leo Charles Friend in Poplar Bluff, MO.
RoseMarie is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Medro “Bud” Brodeur, Jr.; son, Medro “Joe” Brodeur, III (Dana); daughter, Jeanine M. Farley (Kevin); grandson, Medro “Mead” Brodeur, IV (Libby); and great granddaughter, Olive Brodeur. She is predeceased by her parents; and her sister, Alice Ericksen (Eric).
RoseMarie will always be remembered by her family as the most loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was caring and compassionate. Her favorite pastimes included traveling the world, playing bridge, gift of gab, writing letters, crocheting, knitting, and ceramics.
Her neighbor said “I never would have attended nursing school without her encouragement.” Her niece says “She was such an uplifting person in my life.” A long time friend says “She brought me through some very tough times.” And another dear friend can only describe her as being “One hell of a woman for sure.”
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in RoseMarie’s name to The Salvation Army, or to Newtonville United Methodist Church, 568 New London Rd. Newtonville, NY 12128. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, has assisted the family.
