Ronald W. Kirstein

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald W. Kirstein on June 29, 2025. Ronald, a loving and dedicated man, was born in Marathon, Wisconsin on December 16, 1932. He spent the majority of his life in Crystal Lake, IL where he was well-known for his compassion and dedication to his family and friends. As an Electrical Engineer, he worked for various companies including Zenith Controls. He helped design emergency power distribution equipment that was utilized in hospitals, data centers, and other more prominent buildings like the Sears Tower in Chicago. He served in the Air Force Military Police during the Korean war.

Ronald was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers, enjoying the camaraderie of watching games with friends and family. He also relished his walks and frequent card games, bringing joy and laughter to those he spent time with. Ronald's family was his pride and joy, and he constantly put their needs before his own, a testament of his selfless love.

He is survived by his children Joe (Karen) Kirstein, Tom (Susan) Kirstein, Jackellyn Kirstein, stepchildren, Marjorie (Bill) Crawford and Donna Dawe. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Johannes, Ashley, Anna, Joshua, Zoe, Samantha Kirstein, along with Julie and Danny Dawe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Eleanor Lietz Kirstein, his loving wife Donna Farris Kirstein, his sisters Karmen Hanke and Marla Schroeder, his brother-in law Marvin Hanke, his stepson Dan Dawe, and his grandson Joshua Dawe.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
