Roger Odell Smith

Roger Odell Smith, 66, of Lexington, SC passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026.

Odell was born on April 22, 1960 in Columbia, SC and was the third son of Joel and Lowray Smith.  He was a graduate of Lexington High School and worked in maintenance most of his life before retiring.  Odell adored his family and enjoyed being outdoors.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved to share his knowledge with his children and grandchildren.

Odell is survived by his wife of 41 years, Wanda Sharpe Smith; his daughters, Jessica Haynes (Jeremy), Amber Morse (Jordan), and Amy Smith (PJ Harper); sister, Donna Garris (Chad Wooten); brother, Earl Smith (Carolyn); and grandchildren, Lyla, Ellis, and Braelynn.  He is also leaving behind multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Joel Odell Smith; mother, Lowray Smith; and brother, Kenneth Smith.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, his family requests memorials are made to the Carolina Wildlife Center in his memory.
