Robert M. Jackson

Robert M. Jackson of Chapin, SC passed away Monday, November 21, 2022 at home. He was born on January 22, 1935 in Sumter, SC  to the late Richard F. Jackson Sr. and Amber Lee Kolb Jackson.

MSGT Jackson retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years. He was a Vietnam veteran and awarded a Bronze Star for his service. Robert received two Commendation Medals for his services. He was selected NCO of the year by Sumter, while at Shaw Air Force Base. Robert was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, in Sumter, SC and served as a Deacon, Sunday School Treasurer, Counting Committee, and the Bus Ministry.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Jones Jackson, children; Donna J. Alexander, Robert (Wayne) Jackson and daughter-in-Law, Cheryl B. Jackson, two special nieces; Carol Marshall and Beryl Geddings, six grand children, five great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Richard Jackson Jr., Percey Jackson, Eugene Jackson, Sidney (Burgess) Jackson, and Alice Windom.

A private family viewing was held November 21, 2022 at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington, SC.

He will be laid to rest at Fort Jackson Memorial Cemetery.
