Robert "Eddie" LaBoone

Mr. Robert Edward "Eddie" LaBoone, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Richland County, South Carolina to the late Mitchell Shipman and Dorothy Moore LaBoone. Robert earned his Bachelor’s degree in engineering; later becoming a Civil Engineer. He worked for the South Carolina Department of Transportation until his retirement after 32 years of dedicated service. Robert was also a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gilbert.

Surviving are his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Price LaBoone; son, Jason LaBoone; daughter, Shannon Gaskins (Michael); grandchildren, Dylan Gaskins, Aidan Gaskins, Madison Coffman, Belle Coffman, and Dylan Coffman.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2026 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel with the Rev. Matt Lash officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Priceville Road Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 1, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Serving as active pallbearers will be Michael Gaskins, Dylan Gaskins, Dylan Coffman, Bobby Price, Brent Ricard, and Steven Price. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 246 St. Paul’s Church Road, Gilbert, SC 29054 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
