 Robert Daniel Franklin Jr., lovingly known to many simply as Bobby, passed away on January 10, 2026, in Lexington, South Carolina. He was 69 years old.

 Bobby was born on September 21, 1956, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Robert D Franklin Sr. and Addie Mae Franklin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert D Franklin Sr. and Addie Mae Franklin, who passed in 2025 and 2021 respectively.

 Bobby is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Sharon Franklin; his two sons, Seth Franklin and his fiancée Ashley, and Cameron Franklin and his wife Jackie; his beloved grandchild, Addie Mae Franklin, who was named in honor of his mother; and his siblings and extended family, including Melinda and Ricky Whitfield, Stephen Franklin and his partner Frank Rider, and Donn Franklin.

Bobby was a kind-hearted man with a quick wit and an easy smile. He had a special gift for finding humor in any situation and bringing laughter to those around him. Whether with family, friends, or strangers, he always tried to make people feel lighter and more at ease.

Above all else, Bobby cherished his family. He was a dedicated husband, a proud father, and a caring grandfather, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

 A private celebration of life will be held in the coming weeks with close family. 

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the American Heart Association in Bobby’s memory. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
