Robert "Bobby" Porth Obituary

Lexington - Graveside service for Robert Quillen Porth, 88, will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2021 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery with Rev. Dr. William E. White officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, 1130 St. Peter’s Church Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.

Mr. Porth died Tuesday, February 16, 2021 in Agape Hospice House in Lexington, SC. Mr. Porth was born November 21, 1932, in Lexington, SC, son of the late Carl Griffith and Pretteau Oxner Porth. He attended Lexington High School. He was the owner and operator for 59 years of Porth Construction Company of Lexington. Mr. Porth was a life-long member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, serving on church council, property committee, pastoral call committee, Lutheran Men and as church treasurer. Mr. Porth also served as the Assistant Chief of Lake Murray Fire Department. He was a founding member of the Rowesville Hunting Club in Orangeburg. Mr. Porth also enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jeanette Price Porth; two children, Stacie Porth Craps (Mark) and Robert Trent Porth (Brittany); grandchildren, Kimberly Porth, Martin Craps, Benjamin Porth, Kylie Craps, Evan Moersch and Kelton Moersch, all of Lexington; and sister-in law, Lois Porth. Mr. Porth was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Carl Ray (Maeloa), Brice, and Olin (Marlene) Porth; sisters and their husbands, Helen (Samuel Keisler) and Lavelle (Bob) Powell.
