Robert Coleman passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026. He was born June 21, 1936 in Sumter, South Carolina and was the son of Clarence Sr. and Rhoda Coleman.
At the age of 17 he joined the USAF and was awarded a bronze star for his service in Vietnam. He would go onto serve 20 years with the USAF. While in the military he was stationed in France, he met the love of his life, Suzanne Jaudet, they married on February 16, 1957 and enjoyed 63 years of marriage together. After his time with the military he became a letter carrier for 26 years with the USPS.
He was a member of Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Lexington SC. He will be long remembered by his friends and family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Cathy Lewis (David) and Caroline Romore (Pat); four grandchildren, Chris (Bridget) Prieto, Danielle (Pat) Molet, Jessica (Ricky) Dean, and Robert Romore; 2 great grandchildren; his brother, James Coleman; and a host of loving nieces and nephews who loved “uncle Bob”.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Suzanne Coleman; his brothers, Marion, Jack, Roy, Clarence Jr., and Billy; and sister, Virginia Powell .
The family would like to extend thanks to Brookdale SW (Okc) and Excell Hospice for taking such good care of Bob.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington 609 Northwood Road Lexington, SC 29072. Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Shepherd Church of the Nazarene 119 Ball Park Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Burial will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shepherd Church of the Nazarene or Excell Hospice Care of Oklahoma 1200 SW 104th Suite D, Okc, OK 73139.
