Rita L. Wingard

Rita Louise Wingard, best known as Rita, was born in the vibrant city of Lexington, South Carolina, on June 3, 1950. She was a beacon of life and positivity, whose captivating spirit, and warm heart touched everyone she met. Her life was a rich tapestry of fond memories, beautiful relationships, and remarkable accomplishments.

Rita was a devoted mother to her two sons, Randy and Russell Robinette, whom she loved dearly. She was the pillar of their home, a woman of unmatched strength and resilience. Her love knew no bounds, and it was reflected in the warm and nurturing environment she created for her family.

Rita is survived by her sons, Randy (Sara) Robinette and Russell (Tammy) Robinette; and four grandchildren, Richard, Reese, Reagan, and Maggie.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Hammond and Dorothy Wingard.

She was a beacon of love and strength to all who knew her, and her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.

A memorial service for Rita will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel 609 Northwood Road Lexington, SC 29072. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
