Rickie Lucas Brown, born October 5, 1955, in Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on May 24, 2026. A longtime resident of Lexington, SC, Rickie built a life defined by generosity, devotion, and quiet strength. She retired from Palmetto Utility Protection Service after many years of dedicated service, where she was known for her kindness, patience, and commitment to helping others.
Rickie was one of the finest women to have ever lived. She was selfless, compassionate, and unwavering in her dedication to her family. Rooted in a strong Christian faith, she lived out her beliefs through service, humility, and love. She expressed that love in countless ways, but especially through her extraordinary cooking. Many were blessed to sit at her dining table, where she nourished not only bodies but hearts.
She is survived by her sons, Billy Owen, Jr. (Don Kitchens) of Lincolnton, GA, and Chad Owen (Brittany) of Lexington, SC, as well as her stepson, Mike Brown (Judy) of South Congaree, SC. She was predeceased by her stepdaughter, Tammy Ross (Alex) of Lexington, SC, her beloved husband, Harold Brown, and her parents, Otis and Sally Lucas. One of nine siblings, she was blessed to grow up in a large and loving family.
The family is being assisted by Barr-Price Funeral Homes & Crematorium. A visitation will be held at their chapel located at 609 Northwood Rd., Lexington, SC, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 10:00–11:00am. A memorial service will follow at 11:00am.
