Regina S. Heyward, 68, of Lexington died Sunday, June 8, 2025. She was born in Columbia, SC, the daughter of the late Dorus G. and Eloise A. Smith.
She graduated in 1975 from Lexington High School. She was a life-long member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and a talented print industry employee.
Regina was a unique lady in many ways. In playing for the lady's church softball team, she pitched left handed and batted right handed. As a young girl, she enjoyed fishing and swimming at Smith's Pond. Regina was truly a giver of unconditional love.
Regina is survived by her son, Billy Heyward; daughter, Nicole (Campbell) Smoot; sisters, Janalyn Senn and Misty Quarles; brother, Stanley Smith (Wanda)' grandchildren, Alex and Maddie Heyward; and friends Hazel Duell and Brian Wingard.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by brothers, Nelson and Wallace Smith, husband, Bill; father-in-law, J.W. Heyward, sister-in-law, Phyllis Hickman, brothers-in law, Coon Hickman and Robin Quarles.
The family would like to give thanks for the pastoral visits, food, prayers, cards and concerns from so many family members and friends; and for the special care given by Ms. Kari.
Memorial services for Regina will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Lexington, SC with Pastor Judson Merrell presiding. Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.
