Ray Keith Obituary

Ray M. Keith passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at age 84. Born in Lexington, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Berley and Maggie Wise Keith. He was a member of Boiling Springs United Methodist Church and the Boiling Springs Community Club. Mr. Keith was retired from the South Carolina Forestry Commission after 26 years of service. He was known throughout the community for being “Smokey the Bear.”

He is survived by his loving wife, Thelma Meetze Keith and his daughter, Patsy Miller.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Harold Keith and a sister, Elizabeth “Pat” Rease.

The family will hold a celebration of life on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Boiling Springs United Methodist Church, 2373 Calks Ferry Road, Lexington, South Carolina. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
