Phyllis Patterson Hughes

Phyllis Patterson Hughes, 56, was born in 1966 in Chinon, France and passed away, Sunday, January 22, 2023, in West Columbia, SC.

Phyllis attended Midlands Technical College where she earned her Registered Nurse degree. She worked as an oncology nurse for over 30 years at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center, Columbia, SC. She spent her entire adult life in service to others, caring for her patients, comforting them and their families. Phyllis also worked at the SC State Fair First Aid Station for over 35+ Years.

Surviving are her daughter, Breanna Hughes, grandchildren, Dylan, Deanna, Delaney and Jordan, Breanna's Dad, George Hughes, sisters, Connie Bolton (Ed), Patricia Patterson, Anita Duque (Carlos), numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she adored.She is preceded in death by her father, L.C. Patterson, mother, Virginia Patterson, sister, Bernice and brothers, Ricky, Michael and Jeffrey Patterson. 

Special thanks to family and her many friends that called, texted or checked on Phyllis over the last few months. She cherished her relationship with you and really appreciated all the love and support.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12pm, January 25, 2023 at Barr-Price Funeral Home, 609 Northwood Rd, Lexington, SC 29072 with visitation following the service.
