Phyllis B. Amick, 84, of Lexington went to be with our Lord and savior on January 5th, 2021. Phyllis was born on December 3rd, 1936 to the parents of Birchard and Helen Beals in Boston, Massachusetts.
Phyllis served in the Air Force as a Data Mach Proc Opr. She volunteered as a teacher’s aide, which she enjoyed tremendously. She retired from South Carolina Employment Security Commission in October 1999. Mrs. Amick is a long-time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in West Columbia and loved to sing in the choir. She loved her grandchildren and great-grands. Mrs. Amick enjoyed her animals and loved her pets. She loved reading and crocheting, especially baby blankets. Her smile was very contagious.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tim Johnson (Melissa) of West Columbia; grandson, Chris (Gwen); great-granddaughter, Athena; son and daughter-in-law, Kirby Johnson (Becky) of West Columbia; granddaughters, Mandi (Chris) and Kaytlin; grandsons, Bryson and Braydon; great-granddaughter, Riley; great-grandson, Carter; son and daughter-in-law, James B. Amick (Molly) of Lexington; grandson, Anthony; granddaughter, Ashlyn; grandson, Jim (Lydia); great-grandsons, Lil Jim and Mason; great-granddaughter, Emily; grandson, Matthew (Tayler); great-granddaughter, Hayle; great-grandsons, Kohner, Kolton, Kameron, and Karter; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents; husband, Lonnie Edward Amick; and brother, David Beals.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday, January 8th, 2021 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, 609 Northwood Road, Lexington, SC. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday January 9th, 2021 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Karen Hawkins and Pastor Dudley Weaver officiating.
