Obituary
Peggie Anne Calhoun, 82, of Lexington SC passed away at home on Sunday, June 19, 2022. Born June 9, 1940 in Honea Path, SC, she was the daughter of the late Julius S. and Mildred Hopper Calhoun. She was a 1958 graduate of Dreher High School and earned an Associates Degree in Accounting from Midlands Technical College.
Peggie retired after 25 years with the Department of Housing & Urban Development and was a devoted member of Lexington Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class.
She was an avid gardener and loved making quilts and handiwork for family and friends.
She is survived by her brother, Roger A. Calhoun; sister, Kaye Calhoun Brown; and her four children, Kelly Marchant Swift (John), Michelle Marchant Younts, Robert Michael Marchant Jr., and Tanya Wiggins Bloxom (Kelly.) She was a proud Nana to nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister, Judy Calhoun Bevel.
The family thanks all the staff and nurses at Prisma Hospice (Mary, Amy, Happy Kimberly & Morgan) for their kindness, patience and excellent care.
A private family service is planned for a later date. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
