Pauline Hooks Green, 79 of Lexington, died Sunday, September 19, 2021. She was born October 8, 1941 in Nichols, SC and was the daughter of the late Richard Bright Hooks and Nancy Temperance (Tempie) Floyd Hooks and was the wife of the late, Homer S. Green.
Pauline modeled her life as a true Proverbs 31 woman. She loved God with all her heart, she cared for her family, loved her grandchildren with all her being, served others with love and kindness and always put others before herself.
She was an active member of Cayce Church of the Nazarene, serving as a Sunday School teacher for the Senior Adults, past Board Member, Sunday School Superintendent, Church Secretary and in other capacities spanning 50+ years. She was the Payroll Manager at Loxcreen Company in a career that exceeded 49 years.
Pauline is survived by her sons, Steve Green (Diane) of Lexington and Mike Green (Christy) also of Lexington, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, siblings Ottie Yarborough (Derrell) of West Columbia and Nancy Backman (Bruce) of Cayce and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Cook and brother, JC Hooks.
Special thanks to her Healthcare team with Prisma Hospice (Julie, Jackie, Myrtis, Dominique and Kim) and her caretakers Shirley Raush, Hattie Colley and Beverly Smith. We could not have asked for a better team to care for her in her time of recent illness.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Woodridge Memorial Park, Lexington, SC.
