Paul Jones Helms

 Paul Jones Helms, born in Redding, Ohio in 1941, passed away on July 13, 2025.

Paul served in the USMC and later graduated from the American Institute of Baking. His career as a baker started at 12 years old and lasted for 50 years.

He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. He never met a stranger and made it his mission to invite you to the Lord.

Paul enjoyed many hobbies including photography, oil painting, participating in the Senior Olympics, carpentry and working in his yard. 

Paul is survived by his wife, Sylvia K. Helms; seven children, Paul Helms, Jr. of Minnesota, Troy Helms of California, Daren Helms of California, Scott Helms of California, Melina Meis of Illinois, April Westbrook of South Carolina, and Jill Thompson of Georgia; twenty grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his sister, Jan Mayer of Michigan. He is predeceased by his son, Jason Helms.

A visitation will be held at Gethsemane Baptist Church 300 Alliance Road Lexington, South Carolina 29073 on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 11am, with a service following at 12pm. Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.
