Pamela "Pam" Barber

Pamela “Pam” Stewart Barber, 76, of Newberry, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Summerville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Stewart and Iva Ree Pulaski Stewart. Pam graduated from Wade Hampton High School in Hampton, South Carolina, and later attended both Tift Women’s College and the University of South Carolina. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and retired from International Paper Company as a Department Manager after 25 years of service.

Pam was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was known for her strength, kindness, and deep devotion to her family. Her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with those she loved, especially her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Thomas P. Barber, III; her children, Portia Mitchum (Justin), Thomas P. Barber IV, and Sandra Doherty (Ryan); her brothers, Charles Stewart and Will Stewart; her sisters, Mary Staples and Cindy Lee; and her cherished grandchildren, Thomas P. Barber V, Lily Mitchum, Jack Doherty, and Lauren Doherty. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
