Nell Hornsby

Nell Hornsby (Elizabeth Carnell Williams), 90, of Lexington, SC, passed away on February 8, 2026 in Lexington, SC.

Born on August 05, 1935 in Richland County SC., Nell was the daughter of James B Williams and Florrie Neeley. Nell married Albert Boyd Hornsby 75 years ago in Swansea, SC. Their marriage took them to many SC cities including Orangeburg, Greenville, Charleston, and Columbia.

She attended Columbia High School and spent many years as a stay at home mother, eventually going to work as an interior designer. She was known for her seamstress abilities and her love of gardening.

Nell is survived by husband, Albert Hornsby; her sister, Doris Williams Manley; her children, Daniel (Mary), Ronald (Sandra), and Pamela Duffey (Victor); her grandchildren, Christopher Hornsby (Trina), Lisa Cole (Kory); Aspen and Wesley Cole; Josh (Kaitlin) and Nick Duffey (Chelsea); Andrew and Benjamin Hornsby (Rachel); and great grandchildren, Charlotte, George and Julia Hornsby; Emma McKnight, Aubrey, and London Duffey.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl, Dawson, Jimmy and Wayne Williams; and sisters, Alice Mixon, and Katherine (Rena) LaGrange.

Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026 at St. Stephens Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family will arrangements.
