Narda McGee Obituary

Narda Lynn McGee, born March 30, 1960, entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the daughter of the late William Louis Lynn and Priscilla Douglas Lynn, and the devoted wife of Charles “Lamont” McGee for 35 beautiful years. Their marriage was a true reflection of love, laughter, and faith—a bond built on trust, prayer, and shared joy. Together they created a home filled with warmth and kindness, where family came first and every person who entered felt welcomed and loved. Lamont was her best friend, her steady strength, and the love of her life.

Narda was the proud and adoring mother of Gabriel (Rebekah) and Nicholas (America), and the beloved “Mimi” to her precious granddaughter, Annalynn Ava McGee, who she so lovingly called her angel baby. Her love for her boys was fierce, unwavering, and full of pride. She was their biggest cheerleader, their encourager through every season, and the calm presence that made everything feel right. She adored her daughters-in-love, Rebekah and America, who brought her endless joy and completed her family with their love and devotion. She loved being “Mimi” more than anything in the world, and her bond with Annalynn Ava was one of pure love, laughter, and grace.

She is survived by her sisters Jenifer Gaines (Glynn), Debra Geddings (the late Joel), Dianne Baughman, and her brother Buddy Lynn (Amber). Her nieces and nephews—Clay, Daniel, Joshua, Taylor, Chasity, Elizabeth, Brittany, Jordan, Tyler, Bethany, Emma, Jack, Kate, Annabelle, Gaines, and Miles—each held a special place in her heart and memories filled with laughter, advice, and love.

Her extended family in love, the McGees, were also a treasured part of her life: Betty (Charles), Freddy (Tammy), Gary, Janet (Chuck), and Susan (Tim), along with her many beloved nieces and nephews: Wesley, Kyle, Corey, Cody, Lauren, Dylan (her “third son”), Kayla, Brandon, Brooke, Baylor, Caroline, Kaiden, Clara Kate, Harper, and Lucas.

Narda’s life was a beautiful reflection of the things she loved most—her faith, her family, and the simple joys of everyday life. She loved bright colors and beautiful flowers, long walks in the Carolina sun, cheering on her South Carolina Gamecocks, and watching her boys march with the USC band. She had a way of making ordinary moments feel special and filling every space with laughter and light.

Her favorite verse, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10), was her anchor through every joy and trial. She lived with a quiet strength and peace that came from her deep and abiding faith in the Lord.

She taught those around her how to love deeply, laugh often, and trust God completely. Her presence made life brighter, and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled. Yet, even in sorrow, her family rejoices knowing she is healed, whole, and rejoicing in the presence of her Savior.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Barr-Price Funeral Home, 609 Northwood Road, Lexington, SC 29072. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Dolorosa Worship Center, 365 Old Charleston Road, Pelion, SC 29123, with a graveside service to follow.

In honor of Narda’s love for life and color, the family asks that guests wear bright, joyful colors—especially pink—to both services. Flowers may be sent to Barr-Price Funeral Home, and the family also encourages living plants and flowers to be brought and later planted in her honor. She especially loved roses, gardenias, azaleas, petunias, pansies, and mums.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Narda’s special caretakers, friends, and medical teams who showed compassion and love throughout her journey—Amy, her devoted physical therapist; Debra, Maria, Rita, Sheila, and so many others whose care brought comfort and light. They also extend special thanks to the doctors and staff at Lexington Medical Center, Duke University Medical Center, and MUSC for their exceptional care and kindness.

Narda’s legacy is one of love, joy, and unshakable faith—a life well-lived and a love that will never fade.
