Mrs. Nancy Sease Tinman, 90, of Gilbert passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 21, 2026. She was was born on July 14, 1935 in Gilbert, South Carolina to the late Laban E Sease and Edith Long Sease. Nancy is survived by her children, Stephen, Joyce, David, Angela and Dianne; grandchildren Adriane and Sarah McCaffrey, Joshua (Jessica), Taylor and Katlyn Gill; four beloved great grandchildren, Xaivier, Xaiden and Bastian Gill and Chandon Bouknight; and siblings, Robert David Sease, Homer P. Sease, James Edwin Sease, Rebekah Tinman, and Nell Hair. She was predeceased by her husband, Dan Tinman, siblings, Henry Jake Sease and Patricia Tinman; and a grandson, William Tinman.
Nancy lived a life that a country girl raised on a farm would never have dreamed of leading. She married Dan, whose Air Force career took them to many places far from her home. She adapted, enjoyed and endured, making new friends wherever they landed. Her main occupation was raising her 5 children and making a loving home for her entire family. From Sunday school teacher, to den mother, to cheerleading for her kids, Nancy was earnest and loving in all that she embraced. When Dan finally retired and they moved home to SC, they achieved their dream of building a home on the farmland where Nancy grew up. She (and Dan) rejoined her childhood church home, St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gilbert where she was an active, participating member. She loved the church and the family she created there – from Sunday school, to circle meetings, to special projects (one of her favorites was the Christmas shoe box), Nancy was enthusiastically involved in it all. Her faith was all important: it guided and strengthened her throughout her life. She loved being outdoors in her garden, with dirt under her fingernails and the sun on her face. She was fond of a great story, favorite hymns, game nights, walking in the woods, and a good meal with her family. Her family (and many friends) have never known a kinder soul. She loved her family fiercely and unconditionally, famously saying, “We are all God’s children and deserve love – no matter what.” We will miss her and love her forever.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Matt Lash officiating.
